Saturday, May 17th, 2008--Tule Lake Migratory Bird Festival
Bird demonstrations, bird identification field trips, airboat rides through Tule Lake Marsh, tours of Discovery Marsh, and raptor identification guided tours of the Petroglyphs on Lava Beds National Monument.  Transportation is provided from the Tule Lake Refuge Visitors’ Center.

Saturday, June 14th, 2008--Tule Lake Migratory Bird Festival
Visit the northernmost of the Klamath Basin Refuges. This trip is expected to provide views of some of the Basin's most spectacular scenery in addition to opportunities to see Mountain Bluebirds, Black Terns, Wood Ducks, Sandhill Cranes, an many other interesting species. Participants may elect to stay after dark to listen for owls and the chance to hear Yellow Rails calling in the marsh.’ Center.

Refuge employees will lead a tour to Clear Lake Refuge. Wildlife management will be discussed and there will be wildlife viewing opportunities in this juniper sagebrush habitat. After lunch there will be an exploration of nearby Boles Creek and discussion of the connection of this area to the Applegate Trail, the surrender of Captain Jack in 1872, and ranching history in the area. ’ Center.

Saturday, July 26th, 2008-Shasta Yama Taiko Festival
Fourth Annual ShastaYama Taiko Festival will take place in the spectacular outdoor venue of Shastice Park in Mt. Shasta. Shasta Taiko founders Russel Baba and Jeanne Mercer will be joined in concert by Taiko performers coming from all over the US. Sunday, October 19th, 2008--Open House

Expert birdwatchers, a world renowned taxidermist and a nature photography equipment specialist will demonstrate their skills, equipment and techniques in a series of short talks conducted during the morning and repeated in the afternoon. Saturday, November 15th, 2008--Migratory Peak Field Trip
For all levels of birdwatchers-this field trip will focus on both waterfowl and raptor identification. Mid-November normally coincides with the peak of the fall waterfowl migration with the possibility of observing 15 to 20 species of ducks, geese, and swans. Saturday, December 13th, 2008--Mid-winter wildlife on Lower Klamath Refuge
Date to be the week prior to the annual Klamathy Falls Christmas Bird Count. Observers will count species and numbers of birds on Lowere Klamath Refuge and nearby. This morning event will be an opportunity for people to learn how bird counts are done on refuges and in other locations throughout the country. color="#000099">Tuleake, CA

Bird demonstrations, bird identification field trips, airboat rides Join members of the Refuge staff to view the spring migration in progress and learn how wildlife habitats and water are managed on Lower Klamath Refuge to maximize benefits for wildlife. Two tours will be hosted starting at 9am-1pm. Call the refuge for reservation as space is limited

Saturday, March 30th, 2008--Dogsled Express Free Rides for Kids
From 9am-noon The Siskiyou Snow Dog Sporting Association with the support of Dogsled Express Rides and Racing are conducting the third annual Free Kids Ride Day.Sign in will begin at 8:30am and children will be served on a first-come-first-served-basis. Children between the ages of 4 and 5 must be accompanied by an older sibling (6-10yrs old)Guardians must sign a release on all children. Event Location: Mt. Saturday, April 19th, 2008--History Tour-C Camp, Captain Jacks, Internment Camp
Participants will meet at the refuge visitor center to learn about some of the historic milestones which led to the extablishment of Lower Klamath Refuge and many other parks and refuges extablished during the Presidency of Theodore Roosevelt. Following this talk, the group will go through the CCC Camp, the Tulelake museum, the Japanese American Internment Camp, Petroglyph Point and Captain Jack's stronghold on Lava Beds National Monument. Participants should plan on bringing a sack lunch.
